PRIVACY POLICY / UPDATED 21 OCTOBER 2026

Your library.
Your business.

Berry connects your devices to your music server.
Here’s what happens to your information along the way.

Berry has no advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics SDK. Your music and sign-in details are not sent to a Berry-operated backend.

01

Who is responsible

Berry is developed by Farees Hussain Syed. This policy covers the Berry iPhone and Apple Watch apps and this website. For privacy questions, contact support@farees.cc.

02

Your server and sign-in information

You provide your server address and sign-in credentials so Berry can connect to your Navidrome or compatible OpenSubsonic server. Credentials are stored using Apple’s Keychain on your devices. The paired iPhone can transfer the configured server and credentials to Berry on your Apple Watch through Apple’s Watch Connectivity system.

Authentication information and requests go to the server you configure. That server receives network information such as your IP address and can record requests, listening activity, favorites, and playlist changes according to its configuration. Its operator’s privacy practices apply. Use a server you trust and HTTPS when available.

03

Music, downloads, and local storage

Berry stores library metadata, artwork, settings, queue information, and listening state on your device to provide the music player and cached browsing. Music you download is stored locally on the device where you download it. Shared app storage lets Berry’s widgets display artwork and playback information.

When you use features such as favorites, playlists, saved queues, and listening-history reporting, the app sends the related requests to your configured music server. Download and cache data can be removed through the app’s available controls. Uninstalling the app removes its app-container data; server-side records and any system backups are governed by the server and your Apple settings.

04

Siri and Apple services

If you enable Siri access, Berry uses Apple’s Siri and App Intents services to resolve music requests. Playlist vocabulary can be supplied to Siri after permission is granted. Apple handles voice processing under its own privacy practices. You can manage Siri permissions in system Settings.

Apple processes the App Store purchase. Berry does not receive your payment-card details. Apple may provide developers with App Store reports and diagnostics according to your Apple privacy settings.

05

Support email

If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer your request and investigate the reported issue. Don’t include passwords, API keys, tokens, or private music files. You can ask us to delete your support correspondence by emailing the same address.

06

This website

This website is hosted by Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes connection information such as IP addresses and request details to deliver and protect the site. The site itself does not set tracking cookies, run analytics scripts, or load fonts from third-party font services.

For information about Cloudflare’s processing, see its Privacy Policy. External links, including Apple purchase support, are governed by their respective providers.

07

Your choices

You choose the music server, what to download, whether to enable Siri, and what to include in a support request. Manage downloaded music in Berry and system permissions in Settings. To access or delete information held by your music server, contact its administrator.

Berry does not operate its own user-account service, sell personal information, or use information for targeted advertising. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through a Berry account or backend.

08

Changes and questions

We may update this policy when Berry’s behavior or services change. The date above identifies the current version. Questions or requests can be sent to support@farees.cc.
